QUALIFICATIONS:

• A minimum of 2 years of working experience is required.
• No minimum educational attainment is required for this position.
• Male applicants are preferred for this role.
• Previous experience as a seaman / boat crew or in related field.
• Knows how to swim.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Checking the gear before it's being loaded.
• Filling the tanks under the guidance of the Base Leader/Dive Instructors.
• Washing the equipment after everytime they are being used and storing it as per the guidelines of the operations.
• Checking after the gear on the boats and in the operation.
• Looking after the boats and assisting the Captains/Assistant.
• Captains while on duty on the boats.
• Measures depth of water in shallow or unfamiliar waters and assist the captain by showing directions and other means.
• Stands watch from bow of the boat to look for obstruction in path of ship.
• If required, manning the Dive Centre and Water Sports Centre.
• Performing the Silver Sands service on the boats (giving out face towels, water, coffee, tea, etc.)
• Being prepared in an emergency to act as a first responder, be familiar with the first aid, oxygen and emergency plan.
• Welcoming guests on board following the Silver Sands standards, introducing yourself and crew and inform the guests about duration of the excursion.
• Making sure all guests are on board, do a head count after guests have left to boat for snorkeling, diving or local island.
• Maintaining a sense of urgency with whatever task he / she is assigned to.
• Maintaining the resorts / Silver Sands look. Always follow the grooming standards of the resort.
• Being punctual efficient and above all, courteous.
• Maintaining visual communication with other boats.
• Cleaning the boats and the equipment.
• Informing the Captains of the equipment they need for the maintenance for the boat.
• Guiding diving, snorkeling excursions, fishing and other activities of the operations.
• Loading and unloading dive cylinders and other dive and water sports equipment and fishing gear as well.
• Assisting in other activities organized and operated by the Dive and Water Sports Centre, such as big game fishing, night fishing, sailing, and other water sports activities.
• Manning the diving and water sports equipment and facilities at the Dive and Water Sports Centre.
• Manning the yacht and other vessels that belong to the company.
• Dry docking the boats, cleaning, painting and doing other repair works under the guidance and direction of an appointed person of the Company.
• Providing and facilitating for the sale of water sports and diving promotional materials, dive and water sports equipment other duties assigned by the Company.
