Job Description:
1. Vehicle diagnosis and repair pricing
- Receives job card from Workshop Dispatcher and carefully reviews customer’s comments and scope of work.
- Physically inspects and verifies the suspected problem using diagnostic tools as per the policies and procedures laid out by the manufacturer and the company, consulting Workshop Foreman/Road Tester if necessary.
- Upon confirmation from Workshop Dispatcher that customer has agreed to the price of repairs, requests the appropriate spare parts from the Parts Counter.
- Performs the requested repairs according to the manufactures standards and labor hours.
- Repairs the vehicle quickly and efficiently using the appropriate tools and verifies that repair was successful using the appropriate diagnostic equipment.
- Informs Workshop Dispatcher that repair is complete and as to the need for road test verification.
- Reports any other problems with vehicle that was not mentioned in the job card for communication to customer and approval of additional costs for repairs, if so decided by the customer.
- Complies with safety requirements of himself as well as that of the workplace.
- Holds high regard for the personal property of the vehicle owner.
- Ensures that tools are properly maintained and cared for using the manufacturers cleaning specifications.
- Ensures that tools borrowed from the store are returned in the same condition as when borrowed.
